Searching for Rima in the woodland, Abel is more apprehensive when one of the Indians, who have never dared to enter the "green mansions," appears and confidently leads him to the Parahuari village. While I was quite fond of Rima, Abel on the other hand was arrogant and rather unlikeable.
Perhaps it was the dullness of Green mansions book mathematical formulas that in comparison led me to believe this book was truly magical. Abel agrees, and befriends Kua-ko, who tells him of the "Bird Woman", who killed his older brother, and that their tribe is not allowed in the nearby forest.
